Austria’s Labor Market Service (Arbeitsmarktservice, or AMS) has launched a new, online information system aimed at offering help in making career and professional decisions.
Called the “Qualifications Barometer,” it is the nation’s first comprehensive online information system on qualifications and skills trends. Developed by the Institute for Research on Qualification and Training of the Austrian Economy and the 3s Unternehmensberatung GmbH, it provides news on job market and skill or qualification trends in three areas: occupational categories, occupational fields and occupations. It likewise contains a glossary of 1,000 qualifications and skills, links to background information and sources.
The data, which are based on analyses of job vacancies, company surveys and investigative studies, are intended for AMS clients and staff members, people working in politics or economics, and journalists. But the barometer is also designed for anyone facing decisions on their professional future.
